There doesn't appear to be a way of quickly clearing the current playlist in Jive.  With the squeezebox ui, this can be done by pressing add on the Now Playing menu item.  It's a hard to discover feature, but it's useful and is consistent with the standard "Add works as Remove" feature (see also bug 6612).

This bug has recently been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeCenter 7.0.1

Please try that version, if you still see the error, then reopen this bug.
