Description Torgeir Veimo 2004-11-12 06:07:38 UTC
I'd like to be able to use the squeezebox as a remote control sensor,
emitting xpl events for rc5 remotes as it does for other remotes.

RC5 is a standard remote control system developed by philips. It's one of
the most commonly used one.

Any progress on this? It's a bit hard to help out as the firmware is not open
source..

I guess that NEC code is already supported? There's a description of the
differences here; http://www.vishay.com/docs/80071/80071.pdf .

Not going to be possible on Squeezebox. Should be possible with Squeezebox2. Moving bug to that
product.

All new Squeezebox products are likely to be based on the SqueezePlay platform.
We do not plan to implement any further enhancements to the ip3k firmware or
which are targeted specifically at ip3k-based products.
