Bugzilla – Bug 6573
Wrong versioning on Slimserver 7.0 Debian package
Last modified: 2008-01-13 14:11:16 UTC
If I run an apt-get upgrade, I won't get the latest slimserver. This is because "7.0a1" is interpreted as a newer version number than "7.0" in the Debian world. See http://www.debian.org/doc/FAQ/ch-pkg_basics.en.html#s-pkgname $ sudo apt-cache policy slimserver slimserver: Installert: 7.0a1 Kandidat: 7.0a1 Versjonstabell: *** 7.0a1 0 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 7.0 0 500 http://debian.slimdevices.com unstable/main Packages 6.5.5 0 990 http://debian.slimdevices.com testing/main Packages 6.5.4 0 500 http://debian.slimdevices.com stable/main Packages
This is a known issue and will only happen once when you go from 7.0a to 7.0. Otherwise, future 7.0 updates should work fine.
marking as wontfix as this is an known, expected issue. it's a one time hurdle. If there are problems beyond the stated known working path, feel free to reopen.
