Description gbcox@bzb.us 2008-01-03 10:57:47 UTC
Problem is for Fedora 8, but it doesn't show as an option in the pulldown.
Problem also occured in Fedora 7.

Just installed F8, X64 and perl-YAML-Syck-0.98-1.fc8.

Installed SlimServer_v6.5.4.noarch.rpm

Received the following when trying to start slimserver:

The following modules failed to load: YAML::Syck

To download and compile them, please run:
/usr/local/slimserver/Bin/build-perl-modules.pl YAML::Syck

However, YAML-Syck is installed. This didn't occur previously with Fedora Core 6... however, that system
was i386. Not sure if that is causing the issue or not.

FWIW, I have seen this in the past on x86_64. I don't recall what version of Fedora (or maybe CentOS) it was. I never investigated it since, in my case, it did work if I built the module with build-perl-modules.pl. This does not happen in 7.0 since x86_64 binary modules are included.

Thanks for the information. I've gone ahead and installed the 7.0 beta and that appears to have
circumvented the problem.

Marking fixed.
