Bugzilla – Bug 6499
Please integrate bugzilla to Slimserver
Last modified: 2019-01-25 12:04:13 UTC
I lost this report's content two times, due to use web interface on mac instead of textedit. I'm not aware of undo -such as alt-backspace in xp-in the mac and sudden selected text overwrited easily. I propose to use the same account for reporting that used to access squeezenetwork instead of bugzilla email registration or I can propose ways to uniquely generate emails addresses from squeezeboxes and that account can be linked to the slimservers. It is optional however, if someone is a bugzilla fun, an existing user account can be used, but in theory squeezebox advertise as no PC-required... so email registration to bugzilla feels "rude". The proposed feature request and bug report way on Mac's: Open text edit/word,etc. write the report. Open the running slimserver and under help, there would be an item on Slimserver UI called Bugzilla. Text can be copied there. From that UI item on the layout can be the same as bugzilla, expect the email address is autogenerated for each slim user in a way proposed above. In worst case bugzilla slimdevices web interface can be opened directly, which would be easier than current way of find in under wiki on slim devices. bug, feature request would be be sent via Squeezebox or slimserver wlan settigs to slimdevices bugzilla pages. bugzilla user notification settings proposed to integrated to slimserver UI. Responses to reports checked and delivered on each opening of the slimserver upon its submenus. (to Fixed, etc. folders under Community link of SlimserverUI) Maybe as rss displayed to squeezebox upon user preference For beginner you can hide everything else than component, summary and subject in a report. These are defaults or can be queried upon slimserver bugzilla integration Thx, (V) ps.: Squeezebox v4 planned to launch if there is such plans? :) E.g. flickr images may look better on colour display :)
I like this idea. We've already been talking about creating a single sign-on for bugzilla, forums, squeezenetwork, wiki, etc...
Thanks! Feel free to use. I would be happy to prefer something like - if/hope this not already pattented - sboxmacaddress@slimdevices.com (Assuming that either Ethernet or wifi in use and of course removing the semicolons) Also that slimserver automatically save its data under the user slimnetwork account, so data available from one source instead of two. (More simple for the user)
Unassigned bugs cannot have a priority.
