Bugzilla – Bug 6477
Selected and rollover highlights should not be the same in Player Settings
Last modified: 2008-12-18 11:12:53 UTC
In the player settings (and advance settings) area the rollover animation and the selected sub-setting highlight are the same, making it a bit confusing visually. We can probably forget about the rollover animation here and just use the highlight to identify the selected setting.
Please define "the highlight" :-)
Created attachment 2571 [details] two highlights One is selected, the other is rolled over. Both use the same grey rectangle to "highlight".
Got it. (Too much eating, not enough sleep...)
Wouldn't this be a bit confusing as it's exactly the opposite of what we're doing in the playlist panel? There we have the note symbol to highlight the currently playing song, while the highlight is following the mouse. Maybe we could use a simple bullet or something in the settings instead of the highlight? If you want to get rid of the rollover, would you do the same in the settings page, too?
(In reply to comment #4) > Wouldn't this be a bit confusing as it's exactly the opposite of what we're > doing in the playlist panel? I've always found it visually confusing in the playlist panel as well. Could you use a different color for the rollover highlight vs. the 'current' highlight?
Yeah, you are right. Let's use the grey rectangle for rollover only. How about just making the text of the selected item bold?
change 15803 - please review: I've removed the highlighter for the selected element, added bold font and a simple > bullet. This latter should probably be changed to something nicer. Suggestions?
