Description Pascal Herczog 2004-11-05 01:11:05 UTC
In Fishbone, browse by folder, whilst the sort order for MP3s is by artist
(although listed as 'title' by 'artist'), when browsing to a FLAC folder all
songs are sorted by title instead (although still listed as 'title'
by 'artist'). This is inconsistent and makes scanning the list for an artist
extremely difficult.

is this ONLY on the fishbone skin??

I tried creating a folder of FLAC files, and this is the track title listing (in
order):
Fall to Pieces
Bring Me To Life
My Last Breath.

I can't reproduce the sort by track title.

something to consider. I believe sorting while browsing folder is just the raw
order of the scan, thus genre-album-artist-tracknumber (this seems consistent
with the order of the tracks above: genre is all Rock, album order is
Contraband, Fallen, Fallen). Perhaps look at your MP3 files and FLAC files
again to just confirm the genre/album info to make sure the track title sorting
that you see isn't just coincidence. The only other sorting style is by
filename, which you should also take a look at just to be sure.

that is about the best I can suggest.

in the absence of more details, I belive the browse music folder sorting is
consistent with the design of the server and that the tagging in this case is
appearing as a differing sort, but it still according to design. Please re-open
if there are more details or a specific request regarding desired changes to the
design.

Routine bug db maintenance; removing old versions which cause confusion. I apologize for the inconvenience.
