Bugzilla – Bug 6465
/etc/sysconfig/squeezecenter not really usable
Last modified: 2008-12-15 13:08:10 UTC
The file /etc/sysconfig/squeezecenter contains variables for things like the prefsdir and cachedir that can be set as desired by the user. In most cases, changing these will break things because most of this stuff is also hardcoded in OSDetect.pm and other places in the code. This is a known issue and IMO, not needed for 7.0. I wanted to document it here in case someone else has time to look into it. BTW, it appears that the DEB avoids this by just hardcoding everything in the startup script. That doesn't seem like a great solution either.
Will look at this post-7.0.
I can't change targets, but this was fixed in 7.3 by Michael's OSDetect refactoring.
