Description Wallace Lai 2007-12-20 10:06:19 UTC
Router: SMC2804WBR
Setting: WPA: TKIP, private netwrok, standard wireless
Jive FW: MP V6

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Update Jive and a slim player to MP version.
2. Reset both devices.
3. Connect the Jive to the private network.
4. Connect the player to a PC runnign SqueezeCenter.
5. After Jive says "That is it", select "Continue".
6. On the next screen, notice Jive only shows the name of the player on the top. There is no menu at all.
7. Press the "Home" button on Jive. Jive says "Now Playing" on top. Again, there is no menu.
8. Try all the keys. There is no way to get out of these two screens. Plus, Jive is not asking users to update FW.
9. The wifi signal bar is down to one. This can be a lousy router problem.
10. The menu on SqueezeCenter works great though. One can still stream songs from there.

Work Around:
Power cycle the Jive. Now it asks for an update.
Comment 1 Wallace Lai 2007-12-20 10:26:27 UTC
Upgrade FW on Jive from network had failed. However, menu now appears on the Jive. The signal strength goes up and down between 1 and 2 bars.

On second attempt of the entire process, the upgrade worked.

This sounds like it was caused by a bad wireless connection. Not sure what action we can take.

This bug has recently been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeCenter 7.0.1

Please try that version, if you still see the error, then reopen this bug.
