Bugzilla – Bug 6418
Jive still remembers the old setting of router after factory reset and FW update.
Last modified: 2008-01-17 16:27:13 UTC
Jive FW: MP V6 Router: Belkin Airgo True MIMO with a private network Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set the authentication on the router to WEP 128 bits for the private network. 2. Setup Jive and a slim player with this private network. 3. Stream some music. 4. Change the authentication scheme on router to WPA. 4. Update both Jive and the slim player to MP FWs. 5. Perform factory resets on both slim devices. 6. Setup Jive again with the private network. 7. When the access point was selected, notice the authentication schemes popped up were WEP 64 and WEP 128. Not the WPA in the router. 8. Someone other than this user had also seen this problem. Work Around: Go back one page on Jive and select the same router again. The authentication scheme is now correct.
Can you recreate this? As described this does not make much sense, a factory reset clears all data. If this failed then you would not enter setup. Was it possible that two access points with the same SSID, but different encryption methods, were turned on at the same time? This is the most likely cause IMHO.
Tried again with both 1 r1220 and 1 r1474. Bug as written is no longer seen. Marking as works for me.
Regressed around. did not find anything related to this bug. The router used is still LinkSys 11s4 with WEP. Marking as "VERIFIED".
Closing.
