Description Dan Evans 2007-12-18 12:23:10 UTC
When installing SC for the first time, it's not complete until you go through the Setup Wizard. It should open up the web UI after installation is complete so the use can finish the Setup Wizard.
Comment 1 Michael Herger 2007-12-19 02:21:15 UTC
That's what it does for me. If it didn't work for you, then we'll have to investigate further. Have you been running another version of SS/SC on that machine before? Is SC set to be run automatically?
Comment 2 Dan Evans 2007-12-19 09:18:47 UTC
Before I install any new version I always uninstall the old and delete any SC folders to wipe it out completely. As for if its set to run automatically... it's going to be set to whatever the default is. There's no opportunity to set start-up type before it's done installing.

Comment 3 Michael Herger 2007-12-19 09:26:12 UTC
But if there has been a previous version which was set _not_ to start automatically, the new version won't start neither. This parameter is stored in the registry. You'd have to clean up registry/user/software/Logitech, too.
Comment 4 Dan Evans 2007-12-19 09:43:48 UTC
That should be uninstalled during the unstall process. It's not?
Comment 5 Michael Herger 2007-12-19 12:07:28 UTC
Settings should not be deleted on uninstall. Otherwise people will complain about lost preferences when they reinstall.

Is this issue related to the what guys are seeing here?

Comment 6 Dan Evans 2007-12-19 12:18:25 UTC
Maybe pref files should remain but registry items should absolutely be removed. Otherwise a customer or Support has no way of doing a true clean install. I will not be walking customers through editing their registry. No way!

If you insist on the startup setting remaining after an uninstall then that should not be a registry entry. Make a pref setting or some other setting?

change 15493 - hey, this has been broken for four weeks :-/. Please test, thanks!

Dan, any news?
Comment 9 Dan Evans 2008-01-03 09:38:32 UTC
I tested last week, and then again today and... it appears to work correctly now. Once the install completes it automatically opens the Setup Wizard. I'll close as FIXED.
