Description Blackketter Dean 2003-12-19 21:41:37 UTC
The Server currently uses a large amount of RAM and could be slimmed down considerably.

Make smaller

I really don't consider this a bug or an enhancement. Reducing memory usage is
a constant thing, and really belongs more in something like a mission statement
than a bug report. This might be better served if we created a target. Reduce
below 100M for 15,000 songs by 6.0.0 for example. Or maybe even better, to
create a profile of memory footprint for given libraries. Now that we can feed
SWL db files through, it would be easy to keep a selection of libraries aroudn
for profiling. Memory optimisations can then be quantified based on several
real data sample sets, and recorded to the wiki, for example

This was a placeholder bug to reduce the memory footprint. we're doing this with the SQL database
considerably...

There are 536 bugs in the database with targets of '---' that were fixed prior to new year 2006. I am setting them to targets of 6.2.1 to keep them from showing up in my queries.
