Pause is not the same as mute. Mute means that the music is still playing, but that the volume is muted.
Comment 2 Rod Sorochuk 2007-12-15 17:51:03 UTC
Hi Jim,

Agreed. When the Remote Pause button is depressed, audio is muted. The Transponder does not provide a Visual Indication that it's in Pause Mode. Note: A visual queue to indicate Pause and/or Mute is a feature on audio equipment.

please don't preset targets.
standalone mode? if you have no network, transporter can't really do much. or do you mean no connectoin to internet?
When connected to slimserver or squeezenetwork, the display will show "paused" when paused.
Comment 4 KDF 2007-12-16 00:58:06 UTC
I think this also qualifies as enhancement as it is a new element for the ui. Not a bad idea, but requires review.
Comment 5 Rod Sorochuk 2007-12-16 05:32:34 UTC
To KDF: Clarification of Standalone?

Standalone indicates Transporter not connected to Home Network/Internet. The audio source is connected to either of the 4 Digital inputs, i.e. CD_or_DVD_Digital_Source -> DAC -> PreAMP -> AMP -> Speakers
Comment 6 KDF 2007-12-16 16:14:53 UTC
ah ok, digital passthrough. this part is strictly firmware controlled, very much slimmed down ui.
Comment 7 Blackketter Dean 2007-12-27 12:18:33 UTC
A reasonable request for players with front panel controls and inputs.
Comment 8 Felix Mueller 2008-07-11 03:16:04 UTC
This won't make it into 7.1

All new Squeezebox products are likely to be based on the SqueezePlay platform. We do not plan to implement any further enhancements to the ip3k firmware or which are targeted specifically at ip3k-based products.

In the case of this feature, a community contribution would be considered.

is the FW open source? how would one patch the FW if not?
