Description Kevin Pearsall 2004-10-26 15:14:26 UTC
Used to be that if you hit play on Browse Artists/Albums/Genres, it would play
everything.

With the 'browse music' feature, it doesn't do that.

In fact fi you hit play on just about anything on the Squeezebox Home menu it
just goes to the now playing screen...

Dean said this was taken out for a reason, so maybe this should be a selectable
option?

one reason to have taken it out would be due to numerous complaints about the
delay before playing. often, playing this way created huge playlists that would
take the player offline while the server compiled the playlist.

I think, however, that the real reason for the loss of this command might be the
way that the home menu was redone. the old methods of playing from top level
items was confusing and looked as if a number of them didn't really do anything.
there is a note in Home.pm about this. Again, this needs some decision as to
how it 'should' work becuase there are many ways to handle it, and some question
as to what needs to be fixed vs tossed out.

Appears to be fixed. Please verify.

Seems somewhat inconsistent...

Pressing play on the new Browse Music home menu item takes you to now playing...
Pressing play on Browse Artists, Genres, Albums, or New Music plays everything
Pressing play on Browse Playlists takes you to now playing...

If this is how it's intended, that's fine (just different)

There are 536 bugs in the database with targets of '---' that were fixed prior to new year 2006. I am setting them to targets of 6.2.1 to keep them from showing up in my queries.

Routine bug db maintenance; removing old versions which cause confusion. I apologize for the inconvenience.
