Description Wallace Lai 2007-12-06 16:18:14 UTC
OS: XP SP2 ENU
SC Version: Ray special build, version 2007-12-05.

As of this SqueezeCenter build, Jive.bin is no where to be found. It would be nice to have it put into the SqueezeCenter folder during install.
There will be a time a customer upgrades the Jive.bin from network, then finds out he/she does not like it. Tech support can ask these people to downgrade back to the MP FW. This is most likely a more familiar version for the customers.
If the customers ever get stuck and cannot describe what state the Jives are at, the customers can downgrade back to MP FW. Now, tech support would know exactly what steps are needed to help.

The Jive firmware must match the version of SC being used, it won't be possible for users to choose the firmware version. The firmware upgrade works in the same as the Squeezebox firmware upgrade. If it were possible for users to pick different Jive firmware to use then the amount of qa work required would be much greater, having to test a matrix of versions.
