Description Vic Wong 2007-12-06 11:00:56 UTC
We have been getting some support requests concerning expired trials. It seems like after an account has used up it's trial, Squeezenetwork doesn't show the correct error message when they try to create new stations. Instead, it claims that it can't find the artist:

I'm sorry, I can't find "PINK FLOYD" in the Music Genome Project. We're always looking for great new music to include, so we'll check it out. Is there something else you feel like listening to?

It should actually say something like "Your trial has expired. Please subscribe at www.pandora.com (http://www.pandora.com) to continue listening to Pandora on the Squeezebox." or similar.

Apparently, the account status is inaccurate as well. User reports that he saw:

Status: Your free trial of Pandora is currently active. To continue listening following your trial, visit Pandora.com to subscribe.

Even though his account had already expired. The status should probably start off with the sentence: "*Your free trial of Pandora is over."

Trying to listen to stations and create them on the actual device itself does give the more accurate "Pandora account not authorized..." message.

Andy: is this issue still valid? Should we close or re-target the bug

No longer valid.
