Description Jesper Holmberg 2007-11-26 10:46:02 UTC
I have some "Various Artists" albums ripped to m4a files. SC does not recognize them as "Various Artists" however, but file the albums under one of the artists in the album. This is the case in both SS 6.5.4 and the latest SC7.

I have ensured that there are no funny tags which could change the behavior, as far as I can tell. And when I convert the files to mp3:s (using dbpoweramp), they are correctly identified as "Various Artists" albums.

See this forum thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=40456 for the logs from a scan of the mp3:s and the m4a:s respectively. As you can see, the result is different depending on whether its mp3:s or m4a:s.

I can send example m4a:s which exhibit this problem upon request.

Andy fixed the related bug very recently. Did that fix also fix this problem?

Jesper, it looks like the scanner is not recognizing the compilation tag in your m4a files. Could you attach one of the affected m4a files to this bug?

This should be fixed in the latest 7.0 nightly. Reopen with a sample file if this is still happening for you.
