Description Jim McAtee 2007-11-21 20:50:54 UTC
I'm seeing a number of different anomalies in IE6. I'll post a couple screenshots in a followup.

- Quite a few buttons have bad transparencies around the edges (for the rounded corner effects), both in the main window and in the latest Setup (with Default look) window.

- Problems with the dark gray area breaking up when the window is resized. In or around the corner images.

- Mousing over the 'Music Library' link in the browse pane (and only that link does this) I see white text on white background (the text disappears) and the only gray highlight that appears are three of the four rounded gray corner images. Not sure if I can capture this with a screenshot, but I'll try.

This shows pretty much all the issues described.

- Transparency problems around the list/artwork button under the playlist and around the player selector in the upper right.

- Breakup around dark gray corners after resizing the browser windows.

- Mouseover problem with Music Libary link.

screencap of settings in IE6 on XP

This capture show some of the problems in the Settings screen in IE6 on XP, including a couple I just noticed.

- Bad transparencies around Close and Save buttons.

- Extra horizontal white bar under tabs.

- No margin around green at bottom of screen. No rounded corner in bottom right.

Also, this shows the lack of scroll bars as discussed in the forums (which is also seen in Firefox).

change 14935 handles most of the settings issues (less button transparency)

Shows problems with artist list and "now playing" radio tower icon

Attached screenshot showing four visual problems with IE6:

1. The first item in the artists list (also other lists I've tried; albums, individual album page, etc.) should be highlighted - but is rendered almost invisibly.

2. The radio tower icon in the "now playing" pane has odd fringes at the corners

3. Short grey lines extending left and right of the rounded bottom edge of the left-hand pane

4. Odd artifact at the top-left of both left and right panes - a handful of black pixels to the left of the "Artists" string and "previous" button.

None of these occur in IE7 or Firefox 2. Using SC build 15939.
Comment 5 Michael Herger 2008-01-07 04:32:35 UTC
1. Change 15948 fixes the highlighter in _some_ places. Please let me know if you find more of them.

2. that's one of the transparency issues Jim mentioned already. IE6 doesn't support .png transparency.

3 & 4. these are a pain... will take another look

Change 15999 fixes problem #4
Comment 8 Ian Parkinson 2008-01-08 05:21:07 UTC
Can confirm problem 1 fixed in build 15998. I don't see the invisible-first-element on any of the pages that I've tried. Thanks!

Also, can confirm problem 4 looks fixed in 16145.

Fixing IE6's misbehaviour is a continueing activity. Re-targetting for 7.0.1.

we're going to review this when the update to ExtJS 2.0 and the general JS refactoring is done.
Comment 13 Michael Herger 2008-04-24 08:16:00 UTC
change 19115 - wohoo! Fixed the broken corners in the bottom half of the screen.

Feel free to re-open if you encounter new issues with IE6 and SC 7.1 (7.0.1 won't be fixed in this particular case)
