When listening to Pandora until the idle timeout kicks in, pressing play on Jive only restarts the last song then stops and displays the idle timeout again. This behavior was repeatable - every time I pressed play on Jive the same song repeated and then stopped.
However pressing play on the standard ir remote started a new song and reset the idle timeout.

OK, the CLI commands need to reset lastIRTime I guess.
