Description Julius Dauz 2007-11-15 16:52:28 UTC
My brief description:

Both SlimServer or SqueezeCenter crash on Leopard when left idle, meaning when music is not being streamed. It does not crash if a player is connected to it and playing music.

Here is a description from the customer I am helping with this issue, we do not have Leopard installed in support yet so I am unable to test this out myself.

<<I'm still having trouble. I suspect it has to do with my power saving options,
since I can click "start server" and everything's fine, but if I'm not using
the squeezebox and my computer goes into screensaver mode, then the slimserver
turns itself off. Here are my power saver settings:

Put the computer to sleep when it is inactive for: Never
Put the displays to sleep when it is inactive for : 30 mins
Put the hard disk to sleep when possible: check

should these settings be problematic? should I change them? Do I need to not
let it put the hard disk to sleep?>>

since there is no other activity other than the initial filing, I'm going to assume targetting for 7.1 was in error. Surely a crash would be something to fix sooner or at least merit a comment regarding targetting.

Are these users using the very latest and greates SC7 builds? Dean did a fix for a crasher on Leopard a few days ago.

Ping Julius, have you heard back if this seems to still be a problem? Thanks.

I have contacted the customer I have been helping with this issue and requested that she update to the latest build. I will update this bug as soon as I hear back from her. I believe the SqueezeCenter build she had installed was from the 10th of this month.

Update:

Customer emailed me back after installing the nightly of SqueezeCenter and it works fine now.
