flac file causes reset
Last modified: 2007-12-27 11:48:34 UTC
The attached flac file causes a reset of my Transporter. It's corrupt - not a valid flac file but I don't think files should cause a reset.
Created attachment 2410 [details] flac file that causes transporter reset
QA will make sure this is reproducible. Robin, are you running the latest firmware? (33 I believe?)
Yes - I run squeezecenter trunk so I always have the latest firmware.
I just tried this and my Transporter handled it maturely, of course it didn't play but no lock up or reset, with firmware 33. Note: I did need to remove the bz2 extension on the file, Robin what OS?
Heh. .bz2 is a compressed format like .zip. You'll need to uncompress the file to get to the flac :) I would be surprised if winzip couldn't handle it, but if it doesn't I'm sure you can turn up some other bunzipper for whatever OS you are using. :)
Heh, yes, you'll need to uncompress the file using bunzip or similar. Not sure if WinZip will handle it. R.
Ahh thanks guys, winzip extracted it. Able to reproduce this no problem now. Thanks again.
I've reproduced it here and I can see where the FLAC decoder stumbles, but I do not yet see a way to fail gracefully.
Won't be getting to this for 7.0. Will review post-release.
