I would suggest adding a confirmation screen when you select "Turn Player Off."  Currently the option is located on the bottom of the home screen.  It is easy to scroll past the Now Playing option and accidentally turn it off.  By adding a simple, "Are you sure," screen you eliminate the potential frustration.

I personally would prefer NOT to have such a confirmation screen. If one is added, please can it be made optional?

No, we don't need a confirmation screen for this.
