Description Philip Meyer 2007-11-06 17:40:53 UTC
I've just discovered that in my SqueezeCenter installation folder I have a server\logs folder that contains a server.log file. This is 121Mb, which is very big.

I think this must be the default log file location if no alternative log file is specified with --logfile startup parameter.

I suggest that most users will not know about this log file, and it appears it will keep growing to an unmanageable size. Some form of log file maintenance may be needed:

1. start writing to a new log file each day
2. delete log files that are more than <n> days old

See bug 1943 and the discussion at http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=36304.

the server is still Beta and is therefore logging a lot more than is probably needed. The scope of bug 1943 and also bug 4475 which can also serve as a placeholder for debug level settings throughout the server.

Andy to review log settings and make sure they are off by default.

Fixed in change 14970. Default log level for everything is now ERROR and should keep the log file pretty empty.
