I think it would be (or would 'feel') cleaner if the highlighting of an item would be turned off when the mouse cursor moves off of an item.

I see that in the playlist pane there seems to be a timer that turns off the highlighting after a couple of seconds.  I can't imagine why that is and you wouldn't remove it immediately.  In the browse pane there's no such timer and the highlight stays forever.

The implementation seems a little unusual.  The highlighting of an item under the mouse cursor disappears if the cursor doesn't move for one second.  I don't think I've ever used a web interface that had mouseover highlighting that behaves way.
