Bugzilla – Bug 6015
Once: "NET START squeezesvc" returns a log on error.
Last modified: 2008-12-18 11:12:53 UTC
Note: This is a once bug. Unable to reproduce so far. System Info: Dell OPTIPLEX GX 620, XP SP2 ENU Steps to Reproduce: 1. On a clean ghost of XP SP2 ENU, install SqueezeServer. 2. On the page that asks for user name and password, check that radio button and fill in the info. 3. After the installation, stop SqueezeCenter. 4. Bring up a DOS window. Type "NET START squeezesvc". This command return a message about logon info is not correct, and SC did not start. However, this user is the Administrator of that PC.
Concern: Do most Windows users remember what their log in names are? Would the installer page that asks for this info create more problems down the road if people typed in the wrong info?
1. "net start" is legacy - use "sc start" instead 2. the credentials dialog will very likely be removed again 3. the error message just means this: the logon info is incorrect. If it's set up correctly you won't have to type it again. It's stored with the service.
This bug is being closed since it was resolved for a version which is now released! Please download the new version of SqueezeCenter (formerly SlimServer) at http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html If you are still seeing this bug, please re-open it and we will consider it for a future release.
