Description Andrew Cawte 2007-11-02 12:41:42 UTC
My music library resides on a NAS drive (Infrant ReadyNAS) on my local network, mounted over NFS. The music share is mounted read/write and I am the owner of all files in it.

If I point Squeezecenter at /mnt/media/Music, which is the path to the music folder, and rescan the library, the scan completes very quickly and finds no music.

I can, however, drag and drop music from /mnt/media/Music to a local drive, point Squeezecenter at the local copy, and the scan works fine.

squeezecenter runs with it's own user permissions. you need to make sure the mount is readable for the squeezecenter user as well as all subdirectories and files.

Confirmed - that's fixed it. Maybe displaying a note to that effect during initial setup would be helpful; inconsistent file permissions meant that even when it did scan OK, only some of my music was listed.
