Description Daniel Born 2007-10-27 11:03:10 UTC
Music was playing on my Squeezebox 2 (running nightly from 2007-10-10) and while a song was playing, the server just froze. Web interface was not responding, Squeezebox was not responding.
Logged on the server and "ps -ef | grep slim" revealed that slimserver was still running but "top" showed that it was not consuming any CPU. Only way to revive it was to do a "/etc/init.d/slimserver restart".

Only line in slimserver.log file was:
2007-10-27 16:59:29.5575 getpeername() on closed socket GEN525 at /usr/lib/perl/5.8/IO/Socket.pm line 206.

After, I set a bunch of debugs and reran the same sequence of songs, no lockups.

Is it possible you could try to reproduce this on 7.0? We haven't been able to reproduce this here.
Comment 2 Daniel Born 2007-11-07 10:37:42 UTC
Unfortunately it is not possible at the present time as I currently run slimserver 6.5.5 on a low-powered Linux NAS (Linkstation). My understanding is that I wouldn't be pleased with running 7.0 on this hardware (if even possible due to very limited resources).

Alas, we won't be fixing this in 6.5.5. Please try to reproduce in 7.0 and reopen the bug if it still happens.
