Bugzilla – Bug 5929
RedHat: Invalid error for audiodir and playlistdir path
Last modified: 2009-07-31 10:15:10 UTC
System Info: 697 MHz, 256 MB, RedHat EN utf8 SquueezeCenter Version: 7.0a1, 2007-10-24 nightly RPM, 14056 Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install the RPM on RedHat. 2. Go through the Settings Wizard. 3. Connect SqueezeBox. 4. Go to the classic skin. 5. Go to SqueezeCenter Settings. 6. Type in "/home/myname/Music" into both audiodir and playlistdir text fields. 7. Select "Clear library and rescan everything". 8. Click "Rescan". 9. Notice the message on the top of the browser says "Invalid value "/home/myname/Music" for audiodir" and "Invalid value "/home/myname/Music" for playlistdir". 10. Trying "/home/myname/Music/" gets the same error.
As per the comments in bug 5923, slimserver cannot read the contents of /home/myname since it is mode 700.
Wallace, please, we don't need more bugs filed for the same issue, but more information about it. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 5923 ***
After copying the music folder to the outside of this user4's home directory, and changing its permission, the path works now. Closing. This kind of info needs to be int he start up web page.
Closing. Again, this kind of critical info needs to be int he start up web page. Let's not require users to dig around for it.
