While testing changes to the RPM, I noticed that stopping the slimserver daemon leaves behind a running myqld and mDNSResponder.  (Note that the RPM init script stops slimserver with killproc.)  A look at the logs suggests that when slimserver gets a sigterm, cleanup() is never run.  I'm afraid I'm not enough of a perl guy to debug further...
