Last modified: 2011-03-16 04:47:11 UTC

Slim::Utils::MySQLHelper::startServer (271) Error: Couldn't install MySQL as a service! Will run as a process!
Created attachment 2300 [details] server.log file with MySQL failing to start as a service
The log says it wasn't able to run MySQL as a service, thus run it as a process. This is expected behaviour if SC is run as an application by a non privileged user. And it did finally start correct (as far as I can tell from the log). The SqueezeCenter service (squeezesvc) should be registered during installation. This wouldn't be in this log. Don't you see any of squeezesvc or SqueezeMySQL in Windows' service manager?
Michael has completely changed this behavior in the last couple days so this needs to be retested.
MySQL not starting as a service is _no_ issue. It's expected under certain circumstances and will then be run as a normal process instead.
This bug is being closed since it was resolved for a version which is now released! Please download the new version of SqueezeCenter (formerly SlimServer) at http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html If you are still seeing this bug, please re-open it and we will consider it for a future release.
