Description Peter Watkins 2007-10-20 11:01:54 UTC
At r723, Linux on the JHB has the correct local time, but it thinks it's in UTC. It would be nice if JHB used the same timezone as the SC7 host so that both local and real time would be in sync.

Follow-up on this, as I'm sure some other US citizens have noticed -- the JHB (r796) doesn't reflect Daylight Savings changes. I suspect this is due to it setting its clock to UTC when it first connects to SC7, and never becoming aware that the local time offset on the SC7 host has changed. Turning JHB off (holding Home) and then back on causes it to reset its (UTC) clock to the current (local) SC7 time. I don't know that Jive needs full timezone/zoneinfo/zic capability, but perhaps at least having SC7 report its UTC offset periodically could address this.

daylight savings time has been addressed, and at the moment we don't have plans to add timezone support in this manner.
