In the default skin, if URL's are added to the current playlist that are long, they wrap but still stretch off the right of the screen, causing a horizontal scrollbar to appear at the bottom, with the Save/Clear buttons overlapping it.

That's a browser issue: some do wrap at a dash, others don't. I've "resolved" this in other parts by hiding the remainig string. I can't influence the wrapping. If a browser doesn't want to do so, we're lost. What browser are you using?

Could you please give me those urls so I can test with?
