Bugzilla – Bug 584
Make current time an option in 'Now Playing'
Last modified: 2009-09-08 09:11:34 UTC
My SqueezeBox is the only device in my living room that can act as a clock; I find this handy. When playing music, however, I have to choose between the 'Now Playing' and DateTime screensavers. I'd like both; I see the current time being an option either on the top line of the Now Playing saver or just to the left of the note icon.
Created attachment 147 [details] time with progress bar this can be extended to be with and without progress bar, but the basic idea is here.
Created attachment 149 [details] more complete, with player settings This makes time into two options, with and without progress bar when toggling. Also add the options to the player settings pulldown.
Thanks for the quick work, KDF. You didn't ask me to, but I tried to apply that patch to my machine. The patch was successfully applied (with GnuWin32 patch), but I don't see any additional options Player Settings/Now Playing Information, or on the player. I see the menu changes in Setup.pm, but strangely, I cannot get them to appear on the setup page. I tried restarting the server, and the machine. It behaves as if it's got a cached copy of the entire server directory somewhere, but a disk search reveals none. Is there something I'm missing? I'm running 5.3.0 on WinXP SP1. Ignore all this if the patch was not meant to be tried.
if you are using slim.exe under windows, the patch will have no effect. The modules are all pre-compiled into slim.exe. if you want to test the patch, make sure you are using the tar.gz version with activePerl from ActiveState.com. as long as you run slimserver.pl then it should be working.
Created attachment 163 [details] fix time display when stopped the playingDisplayMode gets altered when the player is stopped. we needed a special case to display the time when the player is stopped.
This is now an option via Michael Herger's MusicInfo screensaver: http://www.herger.net/slim/
There are 536 bugs in the database with targets of '---' that were fixed prior to new year 2006. I am setting them to targets of 6.2.1 to keep them from showing up in my queries.
Routine bug db maintenance; removing old versions which cause confusion. I apologize for the inconvenience.
