Description Wallace Lai 2007-10-16 09:10:16 UTC
System Info: System Independent. Tried on 3 different systems -- Win 2K SP4 ENU, Xp SP2 ENU, and Vista Gold ENU

Note: Found on 3 Windows. Has been manually confirmed on Win 2K SP4 ENU.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Put two identical mp3 clips with 16 bits, 8000 sampling rate, and 440 Hz into the playlist.
2. Play them.
3. Notice when the SqueezeBox display drops to -1 second. The sound is gone. A gap appears.

Wallace, is this a bug that you just started testing, or is it a bug that just started happening? Can you tell what date the bug started on?

This is almost certainly a firmware bug, since mp3 files are decoded in the firmware of the SB3.

Also, I am reducing the severity of this bug since very few people use this format.
Comment 4 Wallace Lai 2007-10-16 17:16:34 UTC
This has happened for several builds now.
What are the most popular formats of mp3?
Comment 5 Chris Owens 2007-10-16 17:39:30 UTC
44.1KHz 16bit Stereo is 95% of users (my estimate)
8Khz and 11KHz are pretty low down the list. They have very low audio quality.

This is definitely a bug, since we claim to support this format and we claim to support gapless playback. I'm just considering the other work Felix and Richard have to do.
