Description Bas de Bree 2007-10-16 08:55:12 UTC
Thanks for sending me a beta release of the Jive Hardware platform. It is just the missing piece in the music network. Greath Idea!
So now, after testing, struggling to get the thing connected to the wireless network, updating recognizing my player, resetting etc! I managed to get it up and running.

I run:
SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0 - 13788 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252
Server IP address: 145.118.118.157
Perl Version: 5.8.8 MSWin32-x86-multi-thread
MySQL Version: 5.0.22-community-nt

Jive software version 7.0 (Nightly).

Slimp3 player (the first model).

there is still a problem with the "Now Playing" feature, the list is not updated on the Jive platform. However it is updated on the Server / player.

Is this while playing a playlist of your local music? I haven't noticed this issue.
Comment 2 Bas de Bree 2007-10-16 15:40:41 UTC
yes, that is correct. However the Jive device seems to crash occasionally. I can reboot / reset it (remove battery) and still it does not show a playlist in the "Now Playing" menu. I can change the music that is being played, still the playlist stays the same (empty in case of a reboot).

Ah hm now this is starting to sound familiar; possibly in the realm of 'Jive has lost touch with Slimserver'. Do you usually use your Jive near your access point? Do the problems seem to happen more often when you move farther away and perhaps get radio problems?

Thanks for any info!
Comment 4 Bas de Bree 2007-10-16 15:52:56 UTC
Well to be sure not to have any trouble with the reach of the access point, I am sitting and testing within a meter of the AP. the Jive device indicates full strength connection.
Also the time is not updated anymore in the bottom of the screen. This also happens when the device crashes, however I can still change the music :)

Does the Now Playing screen ever work right for you? Is there something that you do that always or often causes it to "forget" where it should be? Or does it never work right?

I have seen something that sounds similar, but it was only when the jive passed out of network range.

The only way to get the list reloaded / updated for me is to turn off the slimp3 player and turn it on again (both using the jive remote). The list is updated just once.
I'm sorry to file such a hard to trace bug. If I can help submitting a log file or something, please let me know.

I will be testing this early next week. It is a Playlist bug and the summary is updated to reflect that.

This bug has recently been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeCenter 7.0.1

Please try that version, if you still see the error, then reopen this bug.
