Currently firmware updates only happen when the user disconnects/reconnects.  There should be some kind of notification of firmware updates and the user should be able to be prompted to force an update (sb style) or can do it later, in the case that the fw isn't critical.

We need this for 7.0, so we can get to 7.0.1.

Ben, I'm passing this back to you :). What's needed is a way for Jive to subscribe to notifications that a new firmware is ready - rather like you implemented for push menu updates. Let's discuss if you still don't understand.

This is needed for 7.0

SC change 16281 + Jive r1437 fix this

SC-side: Allow firmware upgrade query to be called with a subscription

Jive-side: add a firmwarestatus subscription that runs every 5 mins, only for SBC and not jive_desktop
if new fw is available from SC, push on the upgrade window

change SetupFirmwareUpgrade to allow a passed url to forceUpgrade method
(seems like the same thing could be done in SetupFirmwareMeta instead of using a global, but I'm not going to break something that isn't broken...)

r1448 is another go at the jive side, this time having all firmware upgrade code managed by the SetupFirmwareUpgrade applet and meta files.

This bug has recently been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeCenter 7.0.1

Please try that version, if you still see the error, then reopen this bug.
