Bugzilla – Bug 5783
Extras configuration can return invalid HTML error
Last modified: 2007-10-30 11:42:20 UTC
With the nightly SlimServer_trunk_v2007-10-12. Default settings (ish) are in use, in particular the default skin is in use. 1. Go to the homepage http://buttercup:9000/ (my server) 2. Click on the 'SqueezeCenter settings'. 3. Select 'Extras' from the drop down menu on the new window. 4. Click on the jigsaw piece to display the settings options for the 'CLI interface' item. (Note that it is non-obvious that these Jigsaw pieces have any function, and it seems unclear why the page, unlike all the other configuration pages are not able to have their settings changed immediately). 5. Click on the 'Settings' button which has appeared. 6. Observe that you have now been taken to the 'CLI interface' settings window. 7. Realise that you didn't really want to do that, so select 'Extras' from the drop down menu. 8. Observe a new error box appears: Error -- <HTML><HEAD><TITLE>404 Not found</TITLE></HEAD><BODY>404 Not found: plugins/CLI/settings/undefined/ </BODY></HTML> (above is when in IE; when in Opera, the error is just 'Error --') I believe that the page that you are being taken to in step 6 is not in the same hierarchy or at least not in the place that the settings expects to go to when you change the drop down. This fault seems to be absolutely repeatable in both IE and Opera.
The Extras page has now been rewritten for the new Default skin. Do you still see this behaviour or can we close that case?
There is no longer any way to reach the settings for individual plugins from this page in the Default skin. Marking as INVALID because the problem no longer exists within the new framework (may have been valid but isn't any longer, and hasn't been FIXED because it was worked around by removing all the links).
