I cleared my browser cache and removed the server\Cache folder.  I restarted SqueezeCenter, and navigated to My Music -> Albums in the new Default skin.

The AlbumView mode was "Small Artwork", but the icon wasn't displayed.  In fact, all three album artwork mode icons were missing when I opened the drop-down list.

After selecting a new album artwork mode and refreshing the page, the icons were displayed correctly.

sounds like a simple case of image loading time to me.
