Description Philip Meyer 2007-10-07 07:37:26 UTC
If I navigate to the Advanced Search page and perform a search, there is no easy way to go back to refine the search.

From the results page, the Advanced Search page appears in the PWD. Eg. "Home > Advanced Search".

However, if this is clicked, the default parameter values are displayed in the advanced search page - all previously entered values are lost.

by default, the advSearchForm div is hidden. it would have to be unhidden to be able to refine the results. I tried playing with adding the query to the pwd, but there are too many params that are served up to make it feasible.

A button to unhide the form would work, but some care must be taken to move the result list to give room.

Michael to see if this is fixed with his recent work.

looks like it works here. However, the live/manual search form is still there with a link for advanced search. This is a bit odd, given that the advanced search form is already there. clicking the link simply hides the live/manual search.

change 14465 - returned to old school loading of advanced search page. Please don't complain about the title list being too small. Get a larger screen ;-)

I don't know what you mean about the title list being too small.

Do you mean the search results area being underneath the advanced search form, rather than the results replacing the search form? Because that really is too small.

If it's a toss up between being able to go back to refine the search params, or being able to actually see the results adequately, then I say roll all changes back.

Surely it must be fairly easy to make the search results a separate page appearing in the breadcrumb trail, so we can click to go back to the advanced search page.

Alternatively, the advanced search form area could be a collapsable panel - click something to make the content of a div tag around the advanced search fields roll up to see more results, or roll down to see the advanced search fields.

I'll be happy to merge your patch :-).

> Alternatively, the advanced search form area could be a collapsable panel -

That sounds much more reasonable.

change 14496 - hide form by default, undisclose on click in crumblist
