I upgraded from 6.5 to 7.0 and knew that I needed to visit each squeezebox to perform a firmware update.

When I opened the webUI, which is configured to use the fishbone skin, it also told me in the player panel that I needed to update the firmware on my player.

When I switched to default skin, there was no such message.  If I press the "undock player UI" button in the default skin, this displays the small undocked player window with the message to update firmware in it.
