Currently the default setting for the screen/display brightness is set to 50%.  This should be reconfigured to 75-100% default.  The user can then dim down the display to their desired settings.  This becomes critical upon the consumer's first experience [out of the box].  You want to showcase the product as bright and vibrant as possible.

The default is now set to 80% in r658.

This is increased to 100% in r663. The 80% was causing problems on some P7 units, hitting the dim spot.
