Description John Coyne 2004-09-21 11:35:09 UTC
If you are trying to install Slimserver 5.3.0 over Slimserver 5.2.1 when
Slimserver is running open on the desktop it gives you a cryptic message about
trying to delete a file and having the access denied and then the install fails.
Comment 1 KDF 2005-01-22 05:39:47 UTC
there should be a way to recognise the server is running and either close it
down or prompt the user to do so. Are we doing this now? If so, can this be
closed off? If not, what options are there?

Vidur to make instructions clearer in installer that you should close the app, for 6.0.2. Desktop app will
go away in 6.1.

this comes up a couple times a week... people i've talked to seem to have the
issue with slim.exe and slimserver.exe... and when you reinstall, it does
nothing since those binaries don't get replaced.

Fixed with new SlimServer tray application.
Comment 7 Chris Owens 2008-03-11 11:27:54 UTC
This bug was marked resolved in Slimserver 6.1, which is several versions ago. If you're still seeing this bug, please re-open it. Thanks!

Routine bug db maintenance; removing old versions which cause confusion. I apologize for the inconvenience.
