how odd, it's working for me.

this turned out to be a false alarm. I had scp'ed some files onto the jive last week (including NetworkThread) and those debug files are preserved on the overlay filesystem even after upgrade. I did a factory reset, which wipes those files (and any config), and all is well with r578.
