Description EnochLight 2007-09-23 09:04:27 UTC
Whenever you restart your computer the settings for iTunes disappears in the Slimserver Settings drop-down list. Furthermore, navigating your Squeezebox (3) caused my PC to restart after crashing it from a BSOD.

setting severity appropriately. this does not block all SS development.
Comment 2 KDF 2007-09-23 12:55:58 UTC
also worth noting that I do not see this problem with XP or Linux

I don't have vista, so not sure what could be happening. Likely something on startup is causing the module load to fail.

try a command prompt:
slim.exe --debug plugin.itunes, plugins

that should show any errors that cause itunes to fail to load. It it loads, it should be in the list.
Under what conditions does it reappear? Is you library file located on a shared drive, perhaps? Or, some other place that might not be accessible at the moment when slimserver starts?

Run a command prompt? You mean from my Start - Run - cmd prompt in Vista? It's not recognized as a command.
Comment 5 EnochLight 2007-09-23 21:26:38 UTC
My library is located on the C:drive under "My Documents" - an area I'm pretty sure would be available during a restart. No network drives being used in my system, everything is local.

The only way I can get it to reappear is to uninstall the latest nightly and reinstall it. No other way to my knowledge.

Dan, per our meeting yesterday, could your team please follow up with Enoch?
Comment 7 EnochLight 2007-10-16 14:15:06 UTC
OK, here's the latest. With the nightly build "SlimServer_trunk_v2007-10-13" (SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0 - 13775) the iTunes menu settings appear fine. However, after initial setup my iTunes library and playlists does not appear in SqueezeCenter's library until a do a second clear and rescan of the library. Should this be opened as a new bug?

As for the BSOD and restart, I now fear that my be a hardware issue on my end that has been resolved (failing video card).

Hello Enoch,

I am with the Logitech support team I have been assigned to your case. I looked at the bug you opened and I want to start with a couple of questions

1)	I want to confirm that the issue with iTunes setting being disappeared is resolved by upgrading to Squeezecenter?
2)	Scanning the library twice, can you tell me what Vista addition you are running?

This bug is being closed since it was resolved for a version which is now released! Please download the new version of SqueezeCenter (formerly SlimServer) at http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html

If you are still seeing this bug, please re-open it and we will consider it for a future release.
