Description alex wetmore 2007-09-20 09:26:20 UTC
My player is on a private network and can't access internet URLs directly. This is a restriction of the network at my work.

In all version of the server software up until 6.5 I was able to play internet radio by using the host running slimserver as a proxy. This stopped working with 6.5 and the new direct stream feature.

I was able to hack around this by changing Squeezebox2.pm function canDirectStream to always return 0.

This should be a configuration setting.

I may make sense to assume that if a user has specified a proxy server on the network configuration page that the player can't directstream.

I believe this option is available as "MP3 Streaming Method" under Player Settings.

Navigate to Home->Player Settings for "Your Player"->Audio->MP3 Streaming Method and select Proxied Streaming.

Does this work for you?

Steven is right, this does work. I wasn't able to find this setting earlier and other people on the forums have had the same issue.
