Bugzilla – Bug 5506
SlimServer does not see tracks downloaded from SpiralFrog at all.
Last modified: 2009-05-18 15:16:04 UTC
System Info: Gateway, P4, 1.97 GHz, XP SP2 ENU VERSION INFO SlimServer Version: 7.0a1 - 12905 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252 Perl Version: 5.8.8 MSWin32-x86-multi-thread MySQL Version: 5.0.22-community-nt Steps to Reproduce: 1. Downlaod a track from SpiralFrog to the music folder. 2. Start SlimServer and rescan the music folder. 3. Notice SlimServer cannot see this track at all. 4. Change the SlimServer skin to classic. Rescan the music folder. 5. The classic skin at least can see the SpiralFrog and the track's folder. Notice tt still cannot see the track itself. Enhancement Request: Wouldn't it be great if SlimServer can play tracks from SpiralFrog? The songs are free.
From the FAQ on SpiralFrog "Can I transfer the music I download to a portable device? SpiralFrog is compatible with portable music players and music phones that support Windows Digital Rights Management (DRM). Look out for devices that prominently display the “PlaysForSure” logo." DRM'd files are trapped by the scanner and ignored as they are unplayable by slimserver.
Thanks. If SpiralFrog ever, becomes a big hit, I hope we can work out something with someone.
that, or a "plays for sure" support deal with MS. Marking as future so it's out of the way for the nearer term
