Since there is a delay between pressing the volume up/down button, and the volume change taking effect on the remote device, the UI display should show an internal (to Jive) record of where the volume is headed to, as opposed to the current volume on the squeezebox.  The problem, again, is that a time delay between a button press and the tactile/visual/audible feedback of that action causes multiple button clicks.
