In addition to the stuff that's currently at the bottom of the Jive UI, I'd like to see now playing information either scroll across or flash across (like itunes does). The bottom line can be a general purpose info line that's not totally fixed.

Other stuff that should show up there are, for example, errors playing an internet stream, etc.

This would make it unnecessary to jump back to Now Playing and loose your place in the UI just to see what is playing.

As much as I like information overload, it seems like it might be annoying to see extra text down there. Dan Evans suggests perhaps pressing home should toggle between whatever you're doing now and the now playing screen (right now it toggles between 'now playing' and 'home'.

Of course, the information overload could be turned off as an option. The now playing information is so commonly used, it should be easily accessible. Currently, wherever you currently are is *lost* if you make some attempt to find out now playing info. I had a very similar suggestion to Dan Evans' suggestion.

I.e. toggle between where you are and Now Playing. You can always get to 'home' easily enough by hitting back a bunch of times.

Slightly less intuitive, but more functional I think.
