If I change my Music Folder and rescan with "Clear library and rescan everything" ... when the scan is done the library contains everything from the previous Music Folder. It did not clear. If I try it a second time, it succeeds in clearing and rescanning correctly.

Did you change the music folder and select "change" before doing the rescan? The settings are not saved if you just click the rescan button. v7, however, does.
Comment 3 Dan Evans 2007-08-06 08:59:57 UTC
Yes, I was sure to click "change" before proceeding. Let me elaborate:

 1. I changed the Music Folder to a different value and clicked "change"
 2. I set rescan to "clear library and rescan everything" and clicked "rescan"
 3. Slimserver displayed the message that it was rescanning
 4. when it was done, there was no change in the library (that I detected)
 5. I set rescan to "clear library and rescan everything" and clicked "rescan" a second time
 6. once the rescan was complete, the library correctly reflected the change in music folder and content

I made no other changes between the first and second scan.

Ross to see if he can also repro.

I'm finding that not hitting change, but simply hitting rescan does indeed save the changes. Just not the first time, as Dan noticed. I easily reproduced this 3 times without fail using Dan's clear reproduction steps from comment #3. I also was able to reproduce this exact behavior but not hitting the change button, simply changing the path to a different directory and choosing clear and rescan, and hitting the rescan button. It does indeed save the change, and scan, however not on the first attempt. One time it took 3 attempts, the other 2 only 2 attempts to rescan without hitting the change button. (6.5.5 - 13050)

I continue to see this behavior in SqueezeCenter 7.0a on Windows XP. (Version: 7.0 - 13849 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252)

LaRon-- Can you test this bug? See if you can reproduce in 7.4.1. If yes, I'll retarget. If no, I'll close it.

Hello All,

I am assuming that the "Change" button is now the "Apply" button.

I have followed the steps outlined in comment #3.

1st Test ****

-- When I changed the directory location, and clicked "Apply", the Rescan Music library drop down automatically changed to "Clear library and rescan everything" and started rescanning. The library was changed reflecting the new music folder. None of the previous music was there.

2nd Test ****

--When I changed the directory location, and choose "Clear library and rescan everything"(without clicking Apply first), Scanning start. After the scan was complete, the library was changed reflecting the new music folder. None of the previous music was there.

I could not recreate the original issue using Squeezebox Server 7.4.1, so I do believe this bug has been resolved.

Thanks,

LaRon

Thanks for testing, LaRon.
