Bugzilla – Bug 5176
Transporter playback pauses unexpectedly between tracks
Last modified: 2008-05-15 12:59:12 UTC
I recently upgraded from SlimServer 6.5.1 to 6.5.3. Since then, I have had an intermittent (non-repeatable, but has happened multiple times) problem. At a track boundary in a playlist, the Transporter will spontaneously pause playback. Resuming playback works fine. This does not happen most of the time. I don't know if this bug is Transporter-specific--it may also be an SB3 problem. The music is in Ogg Vorbis format, but it is transcoded to FLAC to work around bug#4677. This problem has happened when the Transporter is not synchronized with any other players, though. The Transporter is on a wired connection to the server, running SuSE 10.2. I don't know how to troubleshoot this any further, but can certainly enable some debug options and report what I find.
Steven to have a look.
Haven't been able to reproduce this since I removed a large metal bucket that was sitting next to my WAP and interfering with one of my SB3s. I suspect that intermittent failures to communicate with this player caused other players to behave badly, esp. since this SB3 was set to sync with my wired system (but not the other way around--how was this possible?) Anyway, if this can't be reproduced independently, chalk it up to a funky sync scenario with a spotty connection.
This bug has recently been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeCenter 7.0.1 Please try that version, if you still see the error, then reopen this bug. To download this version, please navigate to: http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html
